My favorite season is here – it’s fall! There are few things more beautiful to me than fall in the Northeast. Crisp air, leaves in all different shades changing in the trees and crunching underfoot, pumpkin spice coffees, hoodies, yummy smelling candles…okay, I could go on and on but I’ll stop. Given my love for the season, I tend to also fall for fall holiday polish lines; no surprise, right?Today’s polishes are from the Pretty and Polished fall line, the Fall in Love collection. This ten piece collection had a lot of pretty shades, but I decided to settle for two. I decided to go for two completely different finishes and finally decided on For Sweater or Worse and How’s About a Roll in the Hay.
“Fall is a lovely time to get married. You fall in love for better or for worse. We think this polish is definitely for better! For Sweater or Worse is a lush, rich purple creme that you can wear year round! Its a bold fashion statement in a bottle!” I would also like to add that For Sweater or Worse is a blue-based purple.
I applied two coats of For Sweater or Worse, along with base and top coats. Let me just apologize in advance for the horrid state of my cuticles. Grading a thousand papers, endless copy making, and shuffling papers around at meetings has resulted in many a paper cut and dry, ragged cuticles that are resisting my attempts at oiling and moisturizing them into submission. I really love For Sweater or Worse, and for more reasons than just the cute name! This crème polish applied like a dream and would have been a one coater if I hadn’t dragged in just a few spots. It’s not like any other purple I have in my collection and it’s just such a beautiful, flattering purple shade. It dried down pretty glossy on its own and didn’t stain. I also really like this shade as a pedi. 
I decided to top For Sweater or Worse with How’s About a Roll in the Hay? - “A gorgeous Fall glitter topper! This mix of yellow and white satin can be painted over any color for a fresh “roll in the hay” look! Perfect for Fall!” This topper features large hex, small hex, and bar glitters. The white hexes can look silvery in certain lights.

I’m a little mixed on this topper. I really like it a lot on the nail and think it is a fun mix of glitters that is perfectly named. It looks beautiful over For Sweater or Worse and I can’t wait to try it over orange. However, the formula was so stinkin’ thick and those glitters sunk like crazy. I put my bottle upside on my end table for quite some time and gave it a good shake before applying. I dabbed and placed and wiped and dabbed and placed all over one nail until I had decent coverage and no uber thick spots…only to discover that that time the bottle had spent upright had sent all those heavy glitters back down to the bottom. Back to square one! I’m planning on buying some polish thinner and hoping that it makes How’s About a Roll in the Hay? a lot more manageable.
